Step 2: If you have storm damage to your home that is significant enough to file a claim your next step is to call your insurance company. Your insurance company will give you a claim number and assign an adjuster. That adjuster will contact you to schedule your inspection to assess the damage. This process can vary from insurance company to insurance company. We’ll do our best to provide assistance when needed, especially during COVID-19.

Step 3: If approved, the adjuster will create what is called a “Scope of Work” to use as the initial estimate. The insurance company determines the pricing and coverage. As with any insurance claim there may be extra items that were missed or unforeseen at the time of adjustment that is required to complete your project correctly, or items like second layers of shingles that were missed. Your insurance company allows for Supplements in this event. There is no need to get “Estimates” if you are comfortable with a contractor and want them to do the work. Since you have determined your deductible and the insurance company determines the payment amount, that just leaves you to select your contractor of choice.

Step 4: Finalizing your project details is the final step before completing the project. Jansen Roofing will provide a written contract outlining all work to be completed and dollar amounts for that work. At that time we will discuss product options, warranty information, and specific project details. We are even able to complete this process electronically from start to finish if you prefer.
